When I was in middle school, I would film nearly everywhere I went and would create various types of edits and funny videos to post on YouTube. Then during my freshman year of high school I took my first video production class. This class really helped open my eyes to the world of filmmaking and I began to realize the passion and talent I had for it. From then on, I began taking filmmaking more seriously, shifting to a majority narrative structure and began studying different types of films and artists. Filmmaking became my outlet. It was a way for me to share my voice with the world. I fell in love with the idea of being able to create any story, consisting of any type of world and characters, and telling it visually through film.
My hope as an artist is to positively change the world through the stories I share. I believe that filmmaking is one of the most, if not the most, impactful mediums out there. For me, films have opened my mind and brought me to view the world in a totally different way. Films can change the world for the better, and I hope to be a part of that change. My goal is for my films to connect with each individual viewer, and to help them understand that it’s okay to be themselves and to take whatever path of life they want to take, even if that means going against the societal norm. We don’t need to be controlled by the strict narrative that society tells us to follow. We should live in a society where everyone accepts and respects everyone, no matter their differences or the choices they make.
